This class was awesome with great instruction from teacher Sterling. My 5 year old ended the class with an awesome N-ninja picture and he felt inspired and able to show his sibling how to draw ninjas. We will be back for more!

Best art class ever! My 7 & 8 year old loved Teacher Sterling – he is fun, kind and really talented. I’ve never seen my kids interact so much in class. He made them feel comfortable. We have now signed up for every one of his classes for the near future!
Our son has taken multiple classes with Mr. Sterling and loves each one. Perhaps the greatest testament to this is that he often practices what he learned in class later in the day, trying to further hone his skills and remember just how Mr. Sterling taught him how to draw something. Simply put, he loves each class proud of his drawing and excited to build on his skills. Mr. Sterling creates a great environment in which students are supported and celebrated and his skillful instruction enables students to make some impressive drawings and fall further in love with making art.
Mr. Sterling does an amazing job guiding students step-by-step through the drawing process. He empowers them to draw things they previously wouldn’t have thought possible–and he does this both through his skilled instruction and the warm and welcoming environment he creates for his students. We highly recommend his classes for any student interested in art.

Wow, he was a master teacher with perfect pacing, excellent rapport with learners, and inclusive style, and such a positive vibe. My daughter LOVED this class. She was captivated the entire time with Mr. Sterling’s instruction. It’s the most complex and detailed drawing that she’s ever made. She loved his style. She describes his style as fun, kind, and knowing how to explain things in ways she can understand.

Sterling is an awesome art teacher. My daughter has taken over 30 of his classes and absolutely loves his teaching. He’s great with young kids, the cartoon style and letter/number anchor make it accessible, and his engaging, fun style makes the kids laugh. Fantastic!
Mr. Sterling is incredibly patient and positive with all the kids, no matter their level of drawing ability. Our five-year-old had a great time and even asked to watch the recording so he could practice his drawing a few more times. So glad to have found this class!

Sterling Freeman is a gem! He teaches an incredible art class and as soon as it ends my daughter always asks me to sign up for another one! Great class. My son is a much more confident artist since starting classes with Sterling. We take 2-3 classes with him each week and will continue to do so.

Joydantz – Waiting with Great Anticipation
I have known the author personally for awhile now. His talent clearly shines through in this book. It is a great one for children, especially for those who have challenges with falling asleep (many other books to help with that, but this one can be read to the youngsters while they are snuggled up under the covers while the adult quietly and soothingly works through the pages). Very highly recommended.

I truly enjoyed reading this book. The illustrations were impeccable and the story had an inspirational message. The connection between the mother and her child is a special God given gift and the author was able to capture that in this delightful children’s book.

I had the opportunity to witness the passion and literary works of Sterling Freeman at the AAUW Reads virtual read-along program last week. Immediately after the AAUW Reads program, I ordered Sterling Freeman’s book through Amazon because I knew my 10-year old nephew, also named Sterling, would be over-the-moon happy to read a book authored by a young black male who shared his namesake. His parents and I were prepared for his generic level of excitement but we weren’t prepared for the inspirational fireworks that followed when he saw the main character and his name on the cover. His immediate response was, “His name is Sterling and he looks just like me!” He literally gushed at the illustrations on every single page. We knew right away from my nephew’s star struck response that he had captured the dreamer’s spirit the author talked so passionately about during the program.

One of my favorite parts of the story is the caring role of the mother who is there for her son and provides a very gracious solution to his problem. The beauty of the illustrations provides the reader with an amazing vision that will not soon be forgotten. The big eyes of the characters and even the brightness of the room will keep this story on the nightstands of many bedrooms for years to come.
